How To Plan For A Flight To Paris
If you have never flown overseas before you may think that a long flight is unbearable. Most airline companies provide entertainment, however, you should still plan ahead so that you will not become bored on your way to your destination. For starters, wear comfortable clothing and dress in layers. It may be extremely warm when you board your flight, but when the plane touches down the climate might be frigid. In addition, you can bring a book, a sketchpad or an mp3 player to keep you occupied. When using digital devices in flight be sure to listen carefully to the instructions given by the flight attendants.
There is a good chance that you will fall asleep on your way to Paris. In total, flights to Paris take anywhere from two to ten hours, depending on your location. You can order a drink if you feel that it will help you to relax, but try not to go overboard. If you are flying with a companion you will be able to keep each other company, however, most travelers do not want to be pestered during particularly long flights.
Even though you might be looking forward to making it to Paris, be sure to double check your luggage so that you don’t forget to pack the essentials. Toiletries such as toothpaste, soap and shampoo can be extremely expensive if purchased in a Parisian gift shop. Bring along several pairs of walking shoes, a jacket, a map and an English to French dictionary. If at all possible, brush up on your French language skills so that you can ask the locals for directions in case you get lost. Most importantly, bring along your digital camera so that you can snap pictures at every stop. Paris is a fairly safe city, but you may want to keep your valuables close by so that you don’t inadvertently make yourself a target.
